I know you have mastered three simple
tenses. This is very good. But you need to more master each of three simple
tenses. No, no, it’s not too difficult. All you need to do is master every each
of them. I am here trying to make all things become as simple as possible. Wow,
nice to see your smile. You cheerful and so do I. Now, I want to call you a
master of Simple Present Tense. And in your mind now is about Simple Present
Tense, isn’t it? Don’t worry! This is not difficult as you think. Even this is

we still remember in our mind that Simple Present Tense is about a tense which shows the event that usually and/ often happens every time and
factual. I do believe that you have memorized
the formula of Simple Present Tense. What I don’t know yet is whether you
practice it in speaking or not, but I wish you will use all knowledge that you
have got in your daily routine. Guys, to master Simple Present Tense is very
easy. This will lead you to ease for speaking in English by using Present time.
Don’t need to be confused when you want to express the event in present time.

- Simple
Present Tense
Is one of three simple tenses which shows the event that usually and/ often happens every time and factual
Subject + Infinitive (s/es for she/he/it) + Object
To be of tense for Simple Present Tense: do and does are used for negative statement, interrogative and WH-Question
Adverb of time :
- Always :
always in Indonesia is selalu
Eg: we always buy vegetables every week
- Usually :
usually in Indonesia is biasanya
Eg: my grandfather usually jogs in the morning
- Sometimes :
sometimes in Indonesia is kadang-kadang
Eg: Rangga and Puji sometimes fight each other
- Often :
often in Indonesia is sering
Eg: the farmers often go to the field in the night
- Seldom :
seldom in Indonesia is jarang
Eg:John’s wife seldom drinks milk
- Never :
never in Indonesia is tidak pernah
Eg: Gilang does not never visit Borobudur every weekendEg:Oki is a cheerful kid. He always does what his mother says. Every day he goes to the school with his Mother. What does he do before entering the class? He kissed his mother. He likes his mother’s cuisine. It is gudeg, gudeg is a Javanese food.
- Present
Continuous Tense
Is one of kinds of Present Tenses which shows the event that is happening when the speech is going to be right now
Subject + to be + Infinitive + -ing + Object
To be of tense for Present Continuous Tense: am, is and are are used for showing noun and/ adjective and interrogative (am, is, and are are ‘to be’ too in a present context) and these are used for positive and negative statement, interrogative and WH-Question
Eg: Ms. Nurdayaningtyas is teaching English today but she is not giving homework to her students. She is a good teacher. But are Nudayaningtyas’ students loving her? Sure, they are.
- Present Perfect Tense
Is one of kinds of Present Tense which shows the event that has happened in this present time but it does not recognized when it happens surely
Subject + to be + Verb 3 + Object
To be of tense for Present Perfect Tense: has (for she/he it) and have (I, you, they and we) are used for positive and negative statement, interrogative and WH-QuestionAdverb of time:
- Already :
alreadyin Indonesia is sudah
Eg: Tina’s boyfriend has already stopped smoking
- Just :
just in Indonesia is baru saja
Eg: my uncle has just arrived Yogyakarta airport
- Ever :
ever in Indonesia is pernah
Eg: the students have ever read this book before
- Never :
never in Indonesia is tidak pernah
Eg: Angelina has never met her father
- Since :
since in Indonesia is sejak
Eg: this family had left the house since yesterday
- For :
for in Indonesia is selama
Eg: I have lived in London for one year
Eg: Indra’s boyfriend has arrived in Palembang harbour and Indra has waited for Popi since 1 PM. How long has Popi been in the ship? Because Indra has sat on the chair for 2 hours.
- Present Perfect Continuous Tense
Is one of kinds of Present Tense which shows the event that has happened in this present time and has been doing
Subject + to be + been + Infinitive + -ing + Object
To be of tense for Present Perfect Tense: has (for she/he it) and have (I, you, they and we) are used for positive and negative statement, interrogative and WH-Question
Eg: what has my mom been doing since this week? Has she been getting well? Rina says alone to herself. She has not been meeting her mother for 3 years since she lives in Bali.
