Well lovely friends, I am going to tell you. Please look at this!

Past time     ->     Present time     ->     Future time

What you should do is understand this chart. Only simple chart. From this chart you have to know there are only three times, they are past time, present time and future time. So, is Nurdayaningtyas right? Yes, she is. From three times, means three tenses. Very easy, really. So please, understand what I am going to write but you don’t need to memorize. Just see, understand and practice them when you speak to your friends.
  1. Simple Present Tense
Is one of three simple tenses which shows the event that usually and/ often happens every time and factual
    Subject + Infinitive (s/es for she/he/it) + Object
To be of tense for Simple Present Tense: do and does are used for negative statement and interrogative
Eg: I always play a guitar after coming back from school but my sister does her homework directly. My mom does not work, she stays at home. My daddy works at his office from Monday till Friday. My daddy spends his time together with us every Saturday and Sunday. My Parents always ask my sister and me “where do you like to go this weekend?”
  2. Simple Past Tense
Is one of three simple tenses which shows the event that happened a while ago or in the past time
    Subject + Verb 2 + Object
To be of tense for Simple Past Tense: was and were are used for showing noun and/ adjective and interrogative (was and were are ‘to be’ too in a past context) & did is used for negative statement and interrogative
Eg: Tono had a holiday 2 weeks ago with his family. When he wanted to come back to Yogyakarta, he did not be able to walk because he got sprain. His mother-in-law asked “why did not you be careful?”
  3. Simple Future Tense
Is one of three simple tenses which shows the event that will happen and will do
Subject + to be + Infinitive + Object
To be of tense for Simple Future Tense: will and shall are used for positive statement, negative statement and interrogative
Eg: Linda and Paijo will go to the Bali next month. They will do their work in Bali. They will visit Bangka Belitung Island after finishing their work. But they are confused, how long will they stay in Bangka Belitung Island?
Hello guys! Wow, you are very spirit, as same with me. If you want to talk to your friend in a simple sentence, don’t be confused. You only need to use these three simple tenses. Simple Present Tense, Simple Past Tense and Simple Future Tense. Well, I have an information to you. Here you can get ‘to be’ of tense of these simple tenses are: do, does, was, were, did, will, and shall. Hmmm, don’t need to memorize it. Just what? Just understand and practice it when you speak. Okay my lovely friends, the lesson is over. Yaaaah, Huuuuuuft! Well, well, we will meet again in an interesting material later on. Let smile together ^_^ because English is fun.

step 1 (To Be)

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Let’s scream together
“English, Yes we like it, Yes we do really love it”
Happy day Indonesia and all my lovely friends! What are your activities today? I thank you that you have spent your time to read my blog. I appreciate it so much, means that you want to learn English with your great spirit. Thumbs up for you!
Hmmm, perhaps you are eating food and looking at your laptop screen right now. But you are confused or don’t know how to show the things or something around you in English. It is very easy, believe me! There are so many things we can see, we can touch, but how to say it in English? Here is the answer.

***
This is called ‘to be.’ What is to be? I am going to explain to you. ‘To be’ is a formula to complete the simple sentence in order to make it in a good sentence with good structure. The next question is: what are the things that include in ‘to be’? Well, I will let you know.
The kinds of ‘to be’ are:
  1. Am :
is a to be that showed a noun and an adjective for ourselves (human) in a single and present context
    Eg: I am a doctor
  2. Is :
is a to be that showed a noun and an adjective for other people and for a thing in a single and present context
    Eg: that is pen
  3. Are :
is a to be that showed a noun or an adjective for other people and for the things in a plural and present context
    Eg: those girls are beautiful
  4. Was :
is a to be that showed a noun or an adjective for ourselves (human) and for a thing in a single and past context
Eg: She was a beautiful queen
  5. Were :
is a to be that showed a noun or an adjective for other people and for the things in a plural and past context
    Eg: they were good students
Now, you can express the things around you with good English. Hmmm, I am going to give you an illustration to make you more understand.
Toni was in his room and studying Mathematics. Suddenly, his brother came and said something.
Joko     : What is on your bed?
Toni      : That is my pen. What happens?
Joko     : No, that is mine. Please, don’t cheat!
Toni      : No, I am not cheating you. It is mine! Ooo please!
You can see that these two sibling wanted to show the pen is their alone, not others. Here you can determine that the ‘to be’ here is using ‘is’ for a single and present context. Why single? Because the pen is only one. Why present? Because this is the conversation which uses present form. So easy right? Well, English is fun, isn’t it? I ask you again, smile please . . . ^_^ The time is up. See you later lovely friend.

intro 2 (What Part do We Begin to Learn English?)

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Let’s scream together
“English, Yes we like it, Yes we do really love it”
Nice to meet you in the step 2. We are still talking about English. Wow, you look so interesting. This is going to be good. Hope we can catch every single word, ameen.
Guys, perhaps we are confused from what we shall begin our material to learn English. Is it from structure or grammar, from vocabulary, reading text book, listening, or other kinds of English part? Don’t be confused! I shall give an illustration.
A baby who was born to the world, s/he was nothing. All of what s/he needed was always helped by her/his parents. Till one day, s/he for the first time tried to do something in her/his life. Do you know what was it? A baby tried to follow what her/his parent spoke to each other. You can see around you, a baby said “momma, momma!”
Yep, you get that point. To learn language for the first time, we should learn the words or more specific is the vocabularies. After you master some of vocabularies in language which you learn, then you will understand to practice it with its grammar. Well, not too difficult right? Before focusing our material in the step 2, let us smile . . . ^_^

***

Hmmm, do you need a dictionary? Sure, because you learn foreign language. I suggest you not to use electric dictionary. We can find many expensive dictionaries that you can buy. But do you know the best dictionary to learn? “Oxford Dictionary If you want to get maximal, you should use this dictionary. Actually the words or vocabularies, you can seek them by yourself, this is impossible for me to tell you all words here, so much. Perhaps, you go somewhere and you bring a dictionary and you see a thing around you which makes you curious of it. Eg, it is ‘cabang pohong’ therefore you look for it in the dictionary, it is called ‘branch.’ Wahoo! You have got one word. Then what will you do later on? Yep, try to memorize it and use it in a sentence when you speak to other people!
Lovely friends, now I am going to tell you kinds of words and phrases. There are eight kinds of words and five kinds of phrases in English. What are they? Let me tell you
Eight classes of words:
  1. Verb (v/V)   :
verb in Indonesia is kata kerja
Eg: decide, tie, surrender, cry, etc
  2. Noun (N)   :
noun in Indonesia is kata benda
Eg: balloon, pestle, traffic sign, book, etc
  3. Adjective (Aj)   :
adjective in Indonesia is kata sifat
Eg: beautiful, hectic, noisy, clever, etc
  4. Adverb (Av)   :
adverb in Indonesia is kata keterangan
Eg: badly, easily, often, soon, etc
  5. Determiner (d)   :
     determiner in Indonesia is penentu
Eg: a, very, the, my, this, etc
  6. Pronoun (Pn)   :
pronoun in Indonesia is kata ganti
Eg: something, its, you, him, etc
  7. Conjunction (Cj)   :
conjunction in Indonesia is kata sambung
Eg: because, therefore, if, but, etc
  8. Preposition (p)   :
preposition in Indonesia is kata depan
Eg: for, with, by, at, etc
And if you say the word, so you will know what kinds of word that you say. Don’t need to memorize these word classes, just try to understand it. Well, I will let you know the classes of phrases. But I want to ask you first, do you know what phrase mean? Phrase is the words which consists more than one word but phrase is not a sentence. Again, I will ask you to smile. Let’s smile . . . ^_^
Five classes of phrases:
  1. A verb phrase (VP)   :
is the words which takes from verb and followed or modified by auxiliary or more auxiliaries in front of the ordinary verb
    Eg: don’t know
Explanation: know here is a head that modified by don’t. Don’t here is an auxiliary as a modifier. It is meant that a person who said ‘don’t know’ is s/he wanted to tell that s/he really don’t know
  2. A noun phrase (NP)   :
is the words which takes from the noun and followed or modified by determiner and/ adjective in front of the noun
    Eg: an interesting game
Explanation: an here is a noun adjunct, means that an becomes an adjective here. Interesting here is an adjective that modified games because game is a head. It is meant that there is a game which is very interesting. Here the writer mostly wants to tell about the game
  3. An adjective phrase (AjP)   :
is the words which takes from the adjective and followed or modified by adverb in front of the adjective
    Eg: most greedy
Explanation: most here is an adverb and greedy here is an adjective as a head. Most is as modifier of greedy. So that we can see that the writer wants us to know s/he mostly wants to tell about greedy
  4. An adverb phrase (AvP)
is the words which takes from the adverb and followed or modified by adverb in front of the adverb
    Eg: very beautifully
Explanation: very and beautifully are an adverb but very here is as modifier of beautifully and beautifully is as a head. So that, we are as a reader have to be able to catch that the writer mostly wants to tell about beautifully
  5. A prepositional phrase (PP)   :
is the words which takes from the prepositional and follows or modifies a noun phrase
    Eg: for a long week
Explanation: a long week, as we know it is a noun phrase where week is as head of a (is a noun adjunct then becomes adjective) and long (is an adjective). A long week is followed or modified by for and for is as modifier of a long week. Here we can get the point that is the writer mostly wants to tell about week, that the week is very long.
Hmmm, I guess you read with your big spirit. Is this interesting, isn’t this? Yahoo, I am so happy because our material or lesson is very nice. Very easy, very simple. Well, but I have to stop our lesson. Don’t worry, we will face again in another time. Just say for the last time, English is fun. ^_^
